College Enrichment Program

The College Enrichment Program is tailored to the unique opportunities and challenges that students may encounter in the transition to college. Students in the College Enrichment Program have the benefit of a Mentorship Program, which will include regular one-on-one meetings and workshops focused on student success. These mentoring sessions offer individualized guidance and support.

Individualized Mentorship — SJC 100L
In a student's first semester, he or she will be enrolled in a Mentorship Program through our Academic Center, titled SJC 100L: College Enrichment Program. This one-credit course will supplement instruction in the SJC 100 Freshman Seminar course all students are required to complete. Students will be paired with an Academic Center tutor/adviser, who will provide them with individualized tutorials and mentorship in a weekly one-hour writing lab setting. Topics will be based on individual student coursework and needs, yet these topics can include organization, planning, revision, research skills, citation and academic integrity.

My first semester in college gave me more perspective than I’d ever hope for. During the College Enrichment Program, my professors took me under their wing, giving me the resources that I needed to be a better student. St. Joe’s is very welcoming. Everyone here wants to see you succeed. The CEP is much more than just a program; it’s more like a new family.
