Counseling Services

Counseling Services

Therapy is free and confidential to all SJNY students and records will not be linked to your official school transcript.

Individual Counseling

The St. Joseph's University Long Island Campus Center for Counseling and Wellness provides comprehensive short-term, goal-directed counseling in a confidential environment for our students. Our counselors help you explore your experiences with the goal of developing awareness and skills to meet life's challenges. These services are free and confidential; they are available so that students can flourish academically, emotionally, and socially.

We offer multi-culturally competent and evidence-based treatment approaches to meet the diverse needs of our students. Therapeutic goals are created followed by weekly sessions or referral services.

Group Psychoeducation Workshops

We offer semesterly workshops that cover topics such as grief and trauma to small groups of students. They meet together under the guidance of a professionally trained therapist. It is a safe place where you come together with peers to learn and discuss the identified topic. To take part in a group, check out our events page to see the current offerings.
