Our biology majors all meet the same academic standards whether preparing for careers in the health-related, education or research fields.
Instruction is provided by a distinguished faculty representing a broad spectrum of disciplines within the science. This outstanding academic program, while rigorous, is eminently successful and boasts a high rate of acceptance to professional schools. In the field of education, our biology students can prepare for teaching the subject at the secondary level. Combining courses in biology and adolescence education at St. Joseph's University produces graduates who are valued and recruited by the educational community.
Beginning in fall 2025, St. Joseph's University, New York students enrolled in the biology program on the Brooklyn Campus who meet specific criteria will be eligible for enrollment in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree program at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS).
Once admitted to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences program, students become ACPHS students for the remainder. Upon completion of the program and degree requirements, students will receive a B.A. in Biology from SJNY and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from ACPHS.
