Medical Technology Degree

The Medical Technology degree is one of the newest degrees offered on our Long Island campus. This program prepares students for careers in the health care field as medical technologists. Also known as clinical laboratory science, the major requires three years of coursework at the University and one year of clinical training at the New York Methodist Hospital School of Medical Technology. Graduates of the program are eligible for licensure in New York State. 

What can you do with a medical technology degree?

Clinical laboratory scientists make the practice of modern medicine possible. Using state-of-the-art equipment and computer technology, they perform a variety of complex laboratory procedures which are essential to a patient's medical care.
