SJC to Host Brooklyn Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Business Expo

BROOKLYN April 9, 2014 The St. Josephs College (SJC) Community Advisory Council is pleased to announce that it will host the fifth annual Brooklyn (Kings County) Hispanic Chamber of Commerce "Brooklyn Business Expo on Tuesday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Tuohy Hall Auditorium on SJCs Brooklyn Campus. This event, entitled "Weathering the Business Storm, will feature interactive workshops and is free and open to the public. 

"The Chamber is proud to once again partner with St. Joseph's College to produce its fifth annual Business Expo, said Rick Miranda, president of the Brooklyn (Kings County) Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. "Along with a prime opportunity to network and showcase their products, we are also providing valuable information about how to secure health insurance for both individuals and small businesses. We hope aspiring and existing entrepreneurs will come out and join us.

This Expo will offer participating businesses and entrepreneurs an opportunity to meet up and discuss their products and services. In addition, the Chamber has secured several leading figures in the Brooklyn business community to conduct four interactive workshops, discussing the Affordable Care Act, how to secure MWBE certification, secure access to finance and how to successfully market their products digitally.

Created by the Department of Business at SJC, the Community Advisory Council plays a pivotal role in fostering a collaborative and congenial business environment in its home borough of Brooklyn. Through its partnerships, the Community Advisory Council seeks to strengthen existing alliances in the community, monitor local economic trends and explore the latest and best practices in the workplace, while sharing information among its members.
