Bring life to your creativity.
Creativity is defined as the ability to produce original and unusual ideas. Bringing your imagination to fruition can be one of life’s greatest accomplishments, one that leads you to endless opportunities. That said, what better way to unlock your creative mind than with a minor in Fine Arts at St. Joseph’s University, New York?
By enrolling in Fine Arts at SJNY, you are given the knowledge, skills and guidance to express yourself through a number of different mediums. By refining your critical thinking and observational learning, you can discover new ways to interpret the world around you. Joining you along your journey are fellow creative minds as well as talented faculty to inspire new ideas and encourage collaboration.
The fine arts minor consists of 24 credits, including 12 art credits (one art history course and three art studio courses) and 12 music credits (including one music theory course, one music history course and one music studio course). Twelve of the 24 total credits must be above the 100 level.
Whether you are pursuing a career in the arts or simply looking for new ways to express yourself, a minor in Fine Arts can help you develop aesthetic awareness, emotional expression, critical thinking skills and cultural exposure for a successful future.
Pair it with a Major: A minor in Fine Arts complements a variety of majors such as child study, adolescence education and history among others.
Talented Faculty: SJNY’s faculty is composed of experienced artists and musicians who will guide your journey of artistic discovery and creative expression.
A Range of Opportunities: Utilize the skills learned to advance your education or apply them to any number of career opportunities.
