A Message on the Passing of Pope Francis

April 21, 2025

We are deeply saddened by the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, whose longstanding commitment to peace, compassion, reconciliation and human dignity for all was an inspiration to Catholics and non-Catholics alike. In his 12 years as the pontiff, Pope Francis expanded the Catholic Church’s global representation and made significant contributions through modernized governance, interreligious dialogue, environmental stewardship, social justice and more.

Pope Francis’ efforts to promote worldwide unity on global issues such as peace, justice and the common good, fostered a sense of shared mission amongst people of all faiths. His contributions to the Catholic Church and devotion to St. Joseph were deeply aligned. He viewed St. Joseph as a model of faith, quiet heroism and a role model for action with a humble and generous spirit.

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though they die, yet they shall live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.” - John 11:25-26

May he rest in eternal peace.
