September 05, 2013

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. September 6, 2013 The Clare Rose Playhouse, a community theater located on the Long Island Campus of St. Josephs College, will begin its 2013-14 season with Norman, Is that You?, which is considered to be the first play to openly and comedically deal with homosexuality. The show will run from September 27 to October 13, 2013.

Norman, Is That You? is a two-act play written by American playwrights Ron Clark and Sam Bobrick, about a Jewish couple who are learning to come to terms with their son's homosexuality. The play originally opened on Broadway on February 19, 1970 at the Lyceum Theatre. Clark and Bobrick set the stage for this comedy to be one of popular acceptance as a father, who travels to New York to seek solace from his son, unearths his sons homosexuality upon his arrival. The new version, while just as funny as the original, is sure to be loved by audiences.

Individual tickets for this show are priced at $15; $12 for students and seniors. Show times are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3p.m. on Sundays. For more information, call the box office at 631.654.0199.
