SJNY CIO NAMED AMONG EMERGING TECH LEADERS

BROOKLYN and PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – February 27, 2025 – St. Joseph’s University, New York (SJNY) is pleased to announce that Michelle Papajohn, vice president for information technology and chief information officer, has earned a spot on City & State’s Who’s Who in Emerging Tech list. The list features innovators, entrepreneurs, academics and others across various fields and professions in New York, including tech executives, government officials, IT experts, advocates and more. 

“We are excited to congratulate Michelle Papajohn on being recognized in City & State’s Who’s Who list,” said Heather Barry, Ph.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs. “This is a well-deserved honor that reflects her strong leadership and dedication to improving our technology. Michelle Papajohn has spent over 25 years ensuring St. Joseph’s University, New York stays ahead of the tech curve. As the institution’s first woman vice president for information technology and chief information officer, she has modernized infrastructure, reinforced cybersecurity and introduced data-driven strategies that enhance student engagement. In 2024, she spearheaded the launch of a mobile identification system, a cybersecurity lab in Brooklyn and tech integration for a new student center on Long Island.

A champion of collaboration, Michelle aligns technology with institutional goals, achieving measurable success in compliance, resource optimization and disaster recovery. She holds an MBA and an M.S. in Human Resources Management from the University, reflecting her dedication to organizational excellence and transformative leadership. 

Michelle resides in Hampton Bays, New York.
