SJC Wins 11 Communication Awards

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. JUNE 4, 2010 The 2010 Communicator Awards, a leading international creative awards program recognizing creative excellence for communication professionals, has honored St. Josephs College with 11 awards for exceeding industry standards in quality and excellence. Three entries received Gold Awards for design, and seven Silver Awards were granted for writing and design, including the St. Josephs College Magazine. The Colleges website was also recognized with a Silver Award.

"We are so pleased that the efforts of the Office of Print and Digital Communications have been recognized by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, said Executive Director of Print and Digital Communications Kathleen Carey. "We have a very talented team of professionals that continue to develop innovative ways to communicate the message of St. Josephs College.

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA). The IAVA is an invitation-only member-based organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to promoting the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Entries are judged on their merits against a standard of excellence based on the 15-year history of the Communicator Awards.

St. Josephs College competed against other leading higher education institutions, including Adelphi University, University of Chicago, University of Alabama, College of Charleston and University of North Texas, as well as industry leaders like Costco, Lockheed Martin and the North Shore LIJ Hospital Systems.
