SJC to Welcome Artist Sungsook Setton

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – February 5, 2020 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) will host an Artist Talk and Reception with Sungsook Setton on Tuesday, February 25 at 12:40 p.m. in the Board Room Art Gallery of O’Connor Hall.

Setton is a Korean-American artist and calligrapher who has been deeply influenced by artistic traditions of East and West. Her “Spirit of the Brush” collection will be on display at SJC until February 27. 

Setton trained in brush painting and calligraphy under Chinese and Korean masters, and studied Western art in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. She obtained a B.A. in Studio Art from Stony Brook University and an M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Art at Goddard College. Setton’s work has been widely exhibited and she has received more than two dozen awards for her work. She serves on the faculty of the China Institute in Manhattan and the Art League of Long Island.
