SJC to Host Veterans Workshop

PATCHOGUE, NY July 20, 2010 St. Josephs College and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs will co-host education workshops covering the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 (Chapter 33) on its Long Island and Brooklyn campuses. The workshops will take place from 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27 on the Long Island Campus and Wednesday, July 28 on the Brooklyn Campus.

The Post 9/11 GI Bill is an educational benefit program for those who served on active duty for at least 90 days on or after September 11, 2001 or those who were discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. Veterans who wish to continue their education can use the benefit to receive tuition assistance and housing stipends.

Registered attendees will learn about the options, benefits and advantages under the Post 9/11 GI Bill and how to enroll. Both workshops are free and open to the public and include lunch.
