PATCHOGUE, NY OCTOBER 12, 2011 St. Josephs College, in conjunction with Gerontology Professionals of Long Island, will host a film series with inspiring movies about aging on Sunday, October 30, 2011. "Visions of Aging will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. in the DEcclesiis Auditorium on the Long Island Campus of St. Josephs College.

"This may be the first film festival on Long Island dedicated to the theme of aging and we are proud to join the Gerontology Professionals of Long Island in making it possible, said Carolyn Gallogly, Ph.D., associate professor of community health and human services at St. Josephs College. The movies that will be shown include Gen Silent, a documentary about the oppression that elder lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals face now after years of battling for equality, and Young@Heart, a 2007 documentary following an all senior choral group that performs unexpected songs from popular artists.
