SJC President Honored as a Top Woman in Brooklyn Business

PATCHOGUE, NY JULY 23, 2012 St. Josephs College President S. Elizabeth A. Hill, C.S.J., J.D., was recently honored at the first annual "Top Women in Brooklyn Business networking and awards dinner held on June 21 at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Brooklyn Top Women in Business Event recognizes influential women in business whose major achievements and participation in the community have made a difference in the borough. S. Elizabeth was one of 36 honorees named a "Top Brooklyn Businesswoman for her work and contributions to the community, as well as her role in making Brooklyn a prime destination in which to do business.

"Brooklyn is a place of extraordinary women, and we have them right here in this room tonight, said Victoria Schneps-Yunis, co-publisher of the Home Reporter newspapers. "This is what you call women power.

The evening, which was sponsored by the Home Reporter newspaper and Schneps Communications, included networking with Brooklyns top professionals, an expo featuring the areas leading businesses, an awards presentation dinner and a charity raffle benefiting two notfor-profit organizations.

In previous years, S. Elizabeth Hill has been honored by a number of organizations, including the American Association of University Women; Advancement for Commerce, Industry & Technology (ACIT); The Long Island Association (LIA); Temple Beth El; the Child Care Council of Suffolk, Inc.; the NAACP Long Island Coalition of Branches; and most recently, The Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations, The Nassau and Suffolk Womens Bar Associations and The Partnership to Advance Women Leaders (PAWL).
