SJC Long Island to Host Financial Aid Workshop

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – September 17, 2015 – The Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid at St. Joseph’s College (SJC) will host a helpful and informative financial aid workshop, Unraveling the Mystery of Financial Aid, on Wednesday, October 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the McGann Conference Center at SJC Long Island in Patchogue. 

This workshop will be helpful for families with children who are beginning their college search. Navigating through the financial aid process can be a daunting task and this workshop will offer information on how to apply and what students need to know to ensure a smooth and friendly experience.

At this event, you will learn:
•    Financial aid myths and tips
•    The questions you should ask colleges and universities
•    The FAFSA and its function
•    How to maximize opportunities for scholarships and grants
•    How financial aid offices determine your eligibility
•    Financial aid in simple terms
•    How to finance a four-year degree

The event will be moderated by Amy Thompson, SJC’s director of financial aid. A special welcome will be given by Tim Bishop, distinguished professor of civic engagement and public service at SJC and former U.S. Representative (2003–2015).
