BROOKLYN and PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – February 13, 2026 – St. Joseph’s University, New York (SJNY) is pleased to announce the introduction of the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) on both the Brooklyn and Long Island campuses.
Supported by grant funding through the New York State Education Department for the next five years, the CSTEP program seeks to assist eligible SJNY students enrolled in STEM or health-related programs with academic, professional and financial assistance to benefit their long-term goals, including:
• Stipends for research and summer workshops
• Opportunities to develop high-quality research under mentorship from SJNY professors
• Tutoring help in subject areas
• Industry and research internship opportunities
• Preparation for licensing exams and standardized tests
Over the next five years, the program will support up to 37 full-time SJNY students per year. Students must apply and be enrolled at SJNY; must be NYS residents in good academic standing; must be pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or health-related fields, and must have a financial need.
