Helping students in STEM take a step in the right direction.
St. Joseph’s University, New York’s new CSTEP program aims to support students pursuing jobs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and health careers through mentoring and research opportunities as well as career preparation.
The goal: To guide and empower students enrolled in STEM and Nursing majors that are under-resourced with the opportunity to work in mathematical, scientific, technological and health-related fields and licensed professions.
CSTEP grants its SJNY students with an array of services designed to assist them academically, professionally, financially and personally to become leaders in their respective fields. Also note that students enrolled in the CSTEP program receive these services for free.
The CSTEP program offers academic enrichment and research experience in STEM content areas. Students receive supervised training in research methods from SJNY faculty, graduate/professional school admissions and standardized test preparation, as well as participate in academic and career development activities.
Through the CSTEP program, students are eligible for stipends for research and summer workshops, research presentation opportunities (local, regional and national), tutoring help in subject areas, industry and research internship opportunities and preparation for licensing exams and standardized tests.
CSTEP serves collegiate students all over New York State.
