Summer Sessions are perfect to lighten your fall and spring course loads, focus on one or two courses and fulfill requirements for a minor.

Newly Admitted Students starting in the Fall

Taking summer classes at St. Joseph's University, New York will enable you to jump start the fall semester by taking a course during one of our summer sessions. Newly admitted students starting their studies at the university in the fall can select from a number of popular required courses, or they can enroll in an introductory course within the discipline they are thinking about majoring in or in one they are interested in learning more about.

Newly admitted students interested in taking a summer course prior to the start of the fall semester can begin enrolling today by contacting The Office of Admissions.

Visiting Students

St. Joseph's University welcomes visiting students during our three summer sessions.  Summer visiting students generally include: 

  • High school students who wish to enroll in a class during the summer to experience college level work and strengthen their academic portfolio   
  • College students from other institutions who wish to expand their studies, catch up on credits or accelerate progress towards their degree at their home institution    
  • Post graduate students, who have already graduated from St. Joseph's University or another institution and wish to enroll in summer classes to develop new skill sets, satisfy prerequisites for graduate study or to complete a certificate program 
  • Individuals wishing to take a course to further their own personal or professional development

Application Process for Visiting Students

Instant enrollment is only available for select courses and for students visiting from other institutions. If a class isn't being offered via instant enrollment check the full summer course list and use the standard process to apply.

To register and pay for classes:

Searching for a Course

  1. View our instant enrollment course listings and enter course code or time or location to search for a course. You can also leave the form blank and click on search to see all offered courses. 
  2. Press the select button to see the course details. Make sure to double-check the course’s location.
  3. The "Section Details" window will display. Review all the information on that screen before proceeding.
  4. Click on the "Add Section" button to add the course to your cart.
  5. Click "Next" to register and pay for the course.

Registration and Payment

  1. Enter your personal information. Keep in mind that you will receive a registration confirmation email to the personal email address provided during the instant enrollment registration process. 
  2. Check off the box that indicates you are the one filling out the form. 
  3. Click submit to proceed to provide additional information and to pay for the course.
  4. Before registering, you can choose to add/remove classes. *Double check Course locations, times and dates before pressing “Register”. Course fees may vary. 
  5. Select payment methods to complete the payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
  6. At the end of the payment process, you will receive a Class/Payment Acknowledgement page.
  7. Your Student ID and other information will be provided via email.

  3. After your application has been processed by the Office of Admissions, the Registrar’s Office/Bursar’s Office will provide you with an amount due for your chosen courses. You will be able to submit your payment (payment in full is required) and reserve your seat in class.
