The Biology Department at St. Joseph’s University, Brooklyn, NY, seeks adjunct instructors for the following courses for the Fall semester (9/9/26 – 12/22/26):

Courses

BIO 115/115L Intro to Human Inheritance

An introduction to the study of heredity and its relationship to human welfare (for nursing majors and non-science majors).

  • LECTURE MW 11:35 a.m.-12:35 p.m.; LAB SECTIONS M 9:35-11:25 a.m., M 1:40-3:30 p.m.; W 9:35-11:25 a.m.; M 1:40-3:30 p.m.

BIO 461/461L Molecular Biology

A study of macromolecules, basic molecular processes and genetic phenomena in prokaryotes, eukaryotes, phage and viruses, with emphasis on both molecules and their biology. Topics include classical molecular biology (DNA, RNA and protein biosynthesis), recombinant DNA and genetic engineering, interactions of macromolecules and regulation of biologic systems (for 3rd/4th year biology majors).

  • LECTURE TTh 9:35-11 a.m.; LAB T 1:40-4:40 p.m.


BIO 232L Lab for Microbiology for the Health Sciences

This course introduces students to various themes in microbiology, stressing clinical relevance and current topics in the field of medical microbiology. Topics include microbial structure, metabolism, genetics, ecology, epidemiology and an introduction to immunology for sophomore nursing majors).

  • LAB F 9:35 a.m.-12:35 p.m.


Requirements: Master’s degree in biology and experience in teaching higher education required.
