Bio

John Joseph Capela, MBA, is an Assistant Professor of Business at St. Joseph’s University, New York, teaching courses in management, marketing and international business. Capela has conducted numerous workshops and seminars throughout the New York metropolitan area on how to start an import/export business and is the author of “Import/Export for Dummies.”

Prior to his career as a professor, Capela served as the director of international operations for one of the oldest and largest manufacturers and marketers of medical, surgical and healthcare products, directing the start-up of manufacturing operations in Puerto Rico and serving as its chief operating executive.

Capela holds a B.S. in Management and MBA in Marketing from Long Island University.

I have authored "Import/Export for Dummies" (April 2008), “Import/Export Kit for Dummies” (second edition) (March 2012) both published by John Wiley & Sons, and the Dictionary of International Business Terms published by Barron’s Educational Series, Inc., and recently translated into Chinese and published by the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Press.

In addition, I have updated the Instructor's Manual for the following texts:

(1) International Business, Daniels, Radebaugh and Sullivan (15th edition), (2) International Business: A Managerial Perspective, Griffin & Pustay, 6th and 7th editions, and (3) the Instructor's Manual and Test Bank for International Business: The Challenges of Globalization, Wild & Wild (8th edition)
