ST. JOSEPH’S UNIVERSITY, NEW YORK SELECTS LEADERSHIP IN ACTION RECIPIENTS

BROOKLYN and PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – June 2, 2023 – St. Joseph’s University, New York (SJNY) recently presented this year’s Donald R. Boomgaarden Leadership in Action Awards to Class of 2023 alumnae Dana Storm and Taylor Callahan.

The award, named in honor of the University's current president, recognizes graduating seniors who have embraced characteristics of positive leadership and have supported connections between various campus groups aimed to enhance the quality of student life.

Storm was a psychology and human services double major on the Long Island campus. She demonstrated leadership during her time at St. Joseph's as co-program director of Campus Activities Board, Orientation Team Leader, member of the LEAD program and a Peer Health Educator. She also received numerous awards and scholarships, and was a member of the Kappa Gamma Pi, Delta Epsilon Sigma and Gamma Tau Delta honor societies.

Callahan graduated with a B.S. in Child Study and attended the Brooklyn campus. She was president of the Child Study Club, vice president of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education and a member of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA).
