Scholarly & Professional Interests

Christopher Smith graduated from Xaverian High School in 1976. He received a BS/BA from New York University in 1980 and an MBA in Taxation from St. Johns University in 1983. He and his wife Karen are the proud parents of Victoria (Fairfield University, 2008), Michael (Boston College, 2008) and Timothy who attends Fairfield University.

Chris founded Christopher R. Smith and Company, CPAs in 1985 and has served as the CEO of this firm since its inception. The firm provides Accounting, Taxation and Litigation Support services to many small to medium sized businesses and individuals in the tri state area. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of Moore Catholic High School where he is also the Chair of the Finance Committee, is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Kevin Lanigan Memorial Foundation and serves as a Board Member and Chief Financial Officer of the Cadets Baseball Club, the oldest sandlot baseball organization in the United States.

Prior to joining the faculty at St. Josephs University, New York, he was a faculty member at the College of Staten Island (CUNY) for ten years.
