Mathematics Education Advanced Certificate

The advanced certificate in mathematics education is intended to provide middle and high school teachers with skills and background knowledge to enhance their mathematics classroom teaching. Candidates for program completion will have a better understanding of the classes they teach, gain teaching ideas and lesson plans, and communicate effectively and work collaboratively within the context of a global society. Fifteen credits are required to complete this certificate. This certificate program is fully online. 

Curriculum

Certificate students can take five of any of the following courses. Note that MAT 566 and MAT 510 may be taken multiple times, as they are offered with different topics.

MAT 505 – Integrating Technology in Mathematics Education
MAT 510 – Exploring the Next Generation Standards 
MAT 546 – Probability and Statistical Inference 
MAT 562 – Modern Geometry
MAT 566 – Special Topics

Applied Behavioral Analysis Certificate

As a licensed behavior analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with individuals who have a medical diagnosis of autism, autism spectrum disorders or related disorders in a variety of public and private settings.

The Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis meets the newest academic requirements for licensure as Licensed Behavior Analyst in accordance with Subpart 79-17 of the New York State Commissioner’s Regulations. License applicants must meet additional requirements as outlined by NYS Education Law Title VIII, Article 167 and Commissioner’s Regulations Subpart 79-17.
